The young Danish singer Kwamie Liv was discovered on the Internet in Spring 2014 by Gilles Peterson, the BBC Radio 1 star DJ and supreme talent scout.

Kwamie Liv grew up in Denmark, Zambia, Turkey, Sweden, South Africa, Kenya, Ireland and Bangladesh before settling in Copenhagen, where she lives today. The seasoned globetrotter developed her musical identity during her extensive travels.

She works on everything from songwriting to production with her acolyte, producer Baby Duka.

Often compared to Lana Del Rey, M.I.A. or The Weeknd, she made her live debuts at the Pitchfork Festival in Paris and Sonar and the Roskilde mega-festival in Copenhagen.

Kwamie Liv has remained relatively discreet since the start of her career, but is set to become the great revelation of the coming months. After a first EP entitled Lost In The Girl, released in summer 2014, she has returned this year with Higher and, even more recently, Pleasure This Pain, a duet with Angel Haze.
